Ten days after announcing a huge boost in my Alexa rankings, this blog got another bump up from Alexa. It’s not a huge, huge jump unlike the first one but something to be happy about nevertheless. From 397K on February 18, this blog’s ranking jumped to to 336K at the end of February.
I see this improvement coming from several factors;
1. Organic traffic from Google which accounts for at least 70% of daily traffic.
2. Regular updates also helped a lot. See this article for the importance of regular blog updates.
3. Stumbleupon visits. Somehow some of the posts here got stumbled which led to some traffic spikes.
4. Regular networking from my trusty little elves. One of them got overly enthusiastic and got banned from one website. lol.
5. Expansion of keywords culled from google trends which also led to #1.
Google’s PR still didn’t move one bit. Argh!
